Seedance from ByteDance is available in Snap AI Studio in three versions: Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.5. All three make video with audio, can start from a text prompt or a start frame, and run on the same credit balance as every other model in the app.

The three versions

Seedance 2.0 is built for multi-shot storytelling with stable characters and native audio. It is the one to use when a clip has more than one shot and the same person or character has to stay recognizable across them.

Seedance 2.0 Fast is Seedance 2.0 at lower cost and latency, still with audio. It is a good first pass for an idea before you spend more on the full model.

Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest video model. In Snap AI Studio it makes clips of 5, 10 or 15 seconds, the longest option of any video model in the app today. Longer clips cost more, so start at 5 seconds.

Where Seedance runs in the app

  • Text to Video lists all three versions. Seedance 2.5 is only in Text to Video and the studio for now.
  • AI Kiss Video Generator, AI Hug Generator, Image to Video, Animate Old Photos, AI Dance Video and Real Estate Video list Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast.
  • UGC Video Ads and AI Podcast Video list Seedance 2.0.
  • The studio lists every Seedance version in Text to video and Image to video mode.

Settings

All three versions make 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 or 3:4 video, every shape the studio offers for video. Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Fast make 5 or 10 second clips; Seedance 2.5 adds 15 seconds. The start frame is optional. Video is priced per second, and the Generate button shows the total for the length you pick.

For a story with several shots, describe them in order in one prompt: "shot 1: ..., shot 2: ...". Seedance 2.0 is made for that kind of prompt.

Known limits

  • Realistic faces in start frames. Seedance 2.0 Fast rejects start frames that show a realistic face. Keep it for text prompts and start frames without a person in them; it is no fallback for photo-of-a-person tools. Use Kling 3.0 Standard for those.
  • Failures are refunded. When a job fails, the credits come back automatically. Safety rejections are refunded up to a daily limit, as the content policy explains.

Try it

Text to Video is the one tool that lists all three versions. Pick a Seedance model in the menu, write the shots in order and press Generate.
