You can sign in with an email and password, or with Continue with Google. These are the messages you may see and what to do about each.
"Invalid email or password."
Either the email or the password is wrong; the message does not say which. Check for typos and extra spaces, and try the email you signed up with. If you still cannot get in, reset your password.
"This account uses Google sign-in. Use Continue with Google, or reset your password to add one."
The account for that email has no password; it was created with Google, or its password was removed when Google was linked (see below). Select Continue with Google, or use the reset link from /forgot-password to add a password so both work.
When you try to sign up with that email instead, the message is "This email is registered with Google. Use Continue with Google."
"An account with this email already exists. Sign in instead."
You tried to sign up with an email that already has an account. Sign in, or reset the password if you do not remember it.
"Too many attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again."
Sign-in attempts are limited per email and per network to slow down password guessing. Wait a few minutes. Sign-ups and reset requests have similar limits.
Google sign-in errors
- "Google did not confirm that email address. Try another account or use a password." We accept Google sign-in only when Google reports the email as verified. Verify it with Google, or use a password.
- "This email is already registered. Sign in with your password." Sign in with your password, or reset it.
- "Could not reach Google sign-in. Try again." The Google page did not open. Check your connection and try again.
Linking Google to a password account
If you have a password account and later select Continue with Google with a Google account on the same, verified email, Google is linked to your existing account. Your credits, plan and results stay the same.
Your password may be removed
If your email had not been confirmed yet, linking Google removes the password and signs out your other sessions. Sign-up does not confirm an email; a completed password reset or a Google link does. This stops someone who signed up with your email before you from keeping access. Afterwards, sign in with Google, or set a new password with the reset flow.
Still stuck
- Sign-in needs cookies. If your browser blocks them for this site, sign-in does not work.
- Private browsing and some extensions can clear the sign-in cookie when the window closes.
If none of this helps, contact us from the email on your account and describe the message you see.
