A top-up is a one-time purchase of a fixed number of credits. It does not start a subscription and is never charged again.
What a top-up costs
The current price and the number of credits in a top-up are shown on the pricing page, under the plans. A top-up costs more per credit than any plan, so if you buy credits every month, a plan is the better deal.
How to buy one
-
Sign in.
-
Select Buy credits on the pricing page or on your account page.
-
Pay on the Stripe checkout page.
-
You return to your account page. The credits appear as soon as Stripe confirms the payment, usually within seconds.
You can buy more than one top-up; each is a separate checkout and a separate payment.
Where the credits go
Top-up credits are added to your one credit balance, the same balance that plans and signup credits use. They work on every model and tool and do not expire. In Credit history on your account page the purchase shows as a Top-up line with the note "Credit top-up".
A top-up does not change your plan. On the free plan, the hourly limit on generations still applies. For results made after buying credits, see Commercial use.
Top-up or plan?
- Top-up: you generate now and then, or you need a few more credits before your next monthly renewal.
- Plan: you generate every month. Plans cost less per credit, add credits every month or year, and remove the hourly limit. See Plans and credits.
Receipts and refunds
You get a receipt by email after paying. A top-up can be refunded under the same rules as a plan payment: within the refund window and only if none of its credits have been spent. See Requesting a refund.
