Short answer: the Terms do not require you to credit Snap AI Studio. They do require honesty about what a result is, and labelling where the law requires it.

Crediting us

There is no attribution requirement for Snap AI Studio in the Terms. You do not need to mention us in a post, an ad, a product or client work, and we do not add a watermark to results on any plan. If you want to credit the tool or model, you can.

Labelling AI results

The Terms say:

Where the law requires AI-generated media to be labelled, label it.

Some countries and platforms require a label on AI-generated or AI-altered images, video and audio, especially in ads and political content. The rules depend on where you publish and where your audience is, and they change. Check the rules for your country and the platform's own settings for AI content before you post.

Do not present results as real

The Terms also say not to present a result as a real photo or recording of an actual event, and not to use a real person's likeness to deceive, harass, shame or impersonate them. In practice:

  • do not pass off a generated photo or clip as news or evidence of something that happened,
  • do not make it look as if a real person said or did something they did not,
  • be careful with results that look like real people, public figures or real places at a real time.

A clear caption such as "AI-generated" or "made with AI" covers most of this.

Model provider rules

Each model provider's content policy also applies to results from its models. If you publish at scale, read the policy of the provider behind the model you used. The model name is on every result card; the models page shows which company makes each one.

When someone else uses your result

Other users can get similar results from similar prompts, and an AI result may not be protected by copyright. Asking for credit when someone reuses your result may not be something you can enforce. See Who owns outputs.
